Christian rock band Skillet is becoming one of my favorite bands. They first appeared on The Sheepdog back in February on the fourth anniversary of my heart transplant. Today, on their second appearance on Music Monday, I am celebrating something else with them - their first #1 single. Recently, the band's single, "Awake and Alive" became their first #1. The song is the band's third consecutive single to be certified gold and appears on their most recent album Awake. Congratulations Skillet ! I suspect "Awake and Alive" is only the first of many future #1's.
The band has had a great 2011. They won a Billboard Music Award for Top Christian Album in 2011 for Awake. So, once again, I say "Congrats Skillet." I hope everyone enjoys todays music video for "Awake and Alive." Just click here to watch. Be sure to crank it up !!
