Benefit being held August 7th for transplant recipient

Downtown North Wilkesboro BannerA benefit concert is being held this coming Sunday, August 7th, in North Wilkesboro, NC for transplant recipient Kenny Miller, a local firefighter. Miller was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 7. In 2004, he went into renal failure and had a kidney and pancreas transplant in July. Funds raised at the benefit will be applied to the more than $300,000 in medical expenses associated with Miller's transplant.

The bluegrass and country music benefit concert will start at 2 PM that day and be held at Record Park which is located in North Wilkesboro at the corner of E and 4th Streets. In addition to the music, there will be food and beverages, a bake sale, prize drawings, and horseback riding. If you live in the North Wilkesboro, NC area, go check out the benefit concert on August 7th. It's not only a fundraiser but also a celebration for one of your neighbors who got his life back.
