California law will make it easier to be organ donor

Chamber of the California State Assembly. Take...California Assemblyman Jared Huffman is sponsoring a bill that will provide another way for Californians to sign up to be organ and tissue donors. Currently, Californians have limited opportunities to do so other than when going to the DMV to get or renew their drivers' licenses. Huffman's bill will change that.

In the article California Lawmaker Wants to Make It Easier to Become an Organ Donor (kget.com) Huffman states, "California is still among the lowest of the states in the country in terms of voluntary sign-up for this program, so we have to just get the word out, and that's the concept behind this bill, provide more ways for folks, who I think want to do the right thing and save lives." This is a novel conept - an elected official who wants to pass a bill that will help save lives. Simply amazing. Lawmakers all across the country could learn something from this gentleman.
