A G N' R Music Monday

For 2012, one thing I wanted to do on Music Mondays is play videos from bands that didn't appear on this blog in 2011. I also wanted to provide a real variety of music, and today is no different as I feature one of the '80s most popular hard rock bands - Gun N' Roses.

Gun N' Roses was known for their hard driving lifestyle and music, and when I mentioned at the end of last week's Music Monday that "it might time to crank the volume back up" this week, they were one of the first bands to come to mind. However, the music video I picked for today is not of one of their hard rockers but rather their ballad "November Rain" from their 1991 album Use Your Illusion I. The music video is more of a mini-movie because it tells a story and is one of the longest ever made, running just over 9 minutes. In addition to being long, it was also expensive costing an estimated $1.5 Million to produce.

Gun N' Roses is backed by an orchestra in the song which features some great solos by lead guitarist Slash. Some have argued that they are some of the best in rock n' roll history. The video or mini-movie, depending on how you look at, is embedded in this blog post or you can watch it by clicking here. Enjoy.
