Children's Healthcare of Atlanta does 1000th transplant

HealthNewsDigest.com reported on October 13th that Children's Healthcare of Atlanta recently performed it's 1000th pediatric organ transplant (http://www.healthnewsdigest.com/news/transplant%20issues0/Children_s_Healthcare_of_Atlanta_Celebrates_Milestone_1_000th_Transplant.shtml). Since 1988, only a handful of hospitals in the country and now only two in the Southeast have reached that milestone. The milestone is made up of :

• 450 kidney transplants,
• 200 heart transplants, and
• 300 liver transplants

My hat's off to them because that's 1000 kid's lives saved and 1000 families blessed with additional, precious time with them. I hope they do at least a thousand more.
