Obama making a joke out of the Supreme Court

First it was Sotomayor, now it's Elena Kagan (pictured right). Obama has nominated his second Supreme Court Justice since taking office, and this one's as bad, if not worse, than the first one.

Some of Kagan's views do not protect and defend the U.S. Constitution. For instance, consider the following :

1. On the 2nd Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms - First, while with the Clinton Administration, she personally drafted an executive order to ban the importation of semi-automatic firearms. Second, while a Supreme Court clerk she said gun registration and licensing did not violate the 2nd Amendment.  Third, during her Solicitor General confirmation hearings, she said the 2nd Amendment does not provide "unlimited protection against governmental regulation." Hmmm. What part of "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" does she not understand ??
2. On the 1st Amendment Right to Free Speech - Kagan argued against the SCOTUS' opinion in Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission. She believes that Congress can forbid corporations from engaging in political speech that advocates the election of or defeat of candidates for elected office. Nope. Sorry. Wrong again Elena.
3. On the 5th Amendment Right to Due Process and 6th Amendment Right to a Speedy Trial - Kagan supports detaining Americans indefinitely if they are suspected of supporting a terrorist organization.

These views show either a lack of understanding or a lack of respect for the U.S. Constitution or both. Maybe even a total disregard for it. Either way, she like Sotomayor, is unfit to be a Supreme Court Justice. Please call or e-mail your U.S. Senator (contact info here) and tell them to vote NO on Kagan's nomination.
